Background: Wayne Burgdorf has been a full time real estate professional since 1985. He has been involved in real estate in many facets, giving him a broad background of knowledge and expertise. He is presently a partner with Burgdorf Realty Group, LP, a diversified real estate services firm with offices in Arlington, Texas.
Brokerage: Mr. Burgdorf has been a licensed real estate broker in Texas since 1987, and was a licensed salesman from 1985-1987. He has brokered a variety of properties including residential land, commercial land, industrial land, single family residential property, multi-family commercial property, improved commercial property, improved industrial property, and even a special purpose property (airplane hanger). He has both listed property for sellers and procured properties for buyers. Trade organizations where he is an active member include: Society of Commercial REALTORs, Arlington Board of REALTORs, Greater Fort Worth Board of REALTORs, Texas Association of REALTORs, National Association of REALTORs, and metro CIB (Commercial Industrial Brokers). Other trade organizations he has had involvement are the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association.
Appraisal: Mr. Burgdorf primarily learned the real estate business as a real estate appraiser. He has extensive experience in the appraisal of all property types including vacant land, residential, commercial, industrial, and special purpose properties. Mr. Burgdorf has taught real estate appraisal through the University of Texas at Arlington’s Continuing Education Department. He has testified regarding appraisal issues in various settings including jury trial, special commissioners hearings, and other municipal board hearings. Mr. Burgdorf is a State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Texas. He earned the MAI and SRA designations from the Appraisal Institute which are the commercial and residential designations respectively, before releasing them voluntarily when appraisal was no longer a regular part of his practice.
Consultation: Mr. Burgdorf has served as a real estate consultant on various occasions including zoning case representation, feasibility studies, ad valorem tax representation, and other consultation issues. Some of his most notable work has been in the field of secondary effect studies, specifically analyzing and testifying to the impact that various adult entertainment establishments have had on property values and assessed values in their locale, at the request of various cities.
Other Experience: Mr. Burgdorf has been involved in other real estate ventures as a principal including development of raw land, investment residential and commercial real estate for long term investment, and investment and rehab of residential real estate for immediate resale. He has served on the West Sector Leadership Committee of the City of Arlington.
Education: Mr. Burgdorf grew up in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and has resided here his entire life. He is a 1981 graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Business Administration's degree in Accounting. He has attended many specialized real estate and related courses provided by various organizations including the Arlington Board of REALTORS, North Texas Commercial Association of REALTORs, Appraisal Institute, Society of Real Estate Appraisers, American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, Continuing Education Institute, International Right-of-Way Association, Real Estate Career College, and the Metroplex Commercial Industrial Brokers. He has also attended various other seminars by various organizations, governmental agencies, and private companies.
Personal: Mr. Burgdorf has been married to his wife Tanja since 1985, and has four children. He is active in the community including being active in church, civic, and charitable organizations.
